Sunday December 22, 2024 the the Eddie Aikau swell from Oahu started to fill in on the California coast. Unfortunately I was unable to be on the island to witness it firsthand, but I was able to watch it build from sunrise in Oceanside to sunset in Cardiff. The sky lit up with hues of purple orange red and yellows. I walked north up the coast towards Swamis along the path in awe of the sound of the surf and the shifting light. A powerful reminder of how deeply connected these coastlines truly are.
