Sharks Cove
It was a bright, sunlit day on the North Shore of Oahu when we set out to explore the hidden Blue Room cave at Shark’s Cove. Carefully stepping across the jagged lava rock, we found a narrow crack in the reef, just wide enough to slip through. With one deep breath, I dove beneath the surface. The passage opened from a tight channel into a vast underwater cavern, its walls glowing in shades of blue. I swam toward a glimmer of light in the distance, and after nearly a minute underwater, I emerged on the other side of the reef shelf face to face with two graceful Honus gliding effortlessly through the crystal-clear water. A moment of pure magic.
